A warm welcome
Someone from the team says hi the moment you walk in, helps you find a seat, and there is usually a little activity waiting at the table so your hands have something to do.
Quick introductions
We introduce ourselves first, then a quick round of names. Nothing long, nothing you have to prepare.
Icebreakers
A light game or two, so the room is laughing before it is talking.
The main thing
Painting, Mafia, a sharing circle, karaoke. Whatever the event is, the host runs it and explains everything as we go.
And people stay
By the end it is usually just a table of people chatting, and nobody is a stranger any more.
How many
Usually 10 to 15 people, now and then a few more. Small enough that you talk to everyone.
Who comes
Mostly people in their 20s and 30s from across Delhi.
Timing
On time is best. We usually wait up to 10 minutes, so do not panic about traffic.
Skills
None needed. Whatever we are doing that day, we explain it as we go.
Sharing
Always a choice. You can listen the whole time.
Tickets
Book by form or DM. Tickets are non-cancellable and non-transferable.
“I don't know anyone.”
Most people don't. We make sure everyone gets to interact with everyone else, so nobody ends up in a corner on their own.
“I'm not very talkative.”
That is fine. There is always something to do with your hands and someone else happy to fill the silence.
“What if it's awkward?”
The first five minutes might be, for everyone. That is what the icebreakers are for.
“Is this therapy?”
It isn't, though it can feel good for you. We are a community of people keeping each other company. If you are going through something heavier, you deserve proper support too, and a qualified mental health professional is the right person to talk to.
